In the community

AYS is dedicated to developing new audiences for classical music. Each year, AYS partners with other local nonprofits to offer unique classical music experiences, including festivals and chamber performances. Most AYS concerts are free of charge, allowing audiences to experience extraordinary music without a financial burden.

Community Chamber Concerts

At AYS, we believe that music lives everywhere, so we perform outside the concert hall and in our community. Each season, our principal string quartet shares performances with communities who are unfamiliar with or unable to go to the concert hall. We have performed at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Union Rescue Mission, and for Invertigo Dance Theatre’s “Dancing Through Parkinson’s” classes. If you would like to request a performance for your community group, email AYS@AYSymphony.org.

A Place Called Home

AYS and A Place Called Home (APCH) have partnered to bring classical music to the South Central Los Angeles community. By hosting classical music concerts and experiences both in-person and online, AYS and APCH hope to foster an enthusiastic classical music audience in the South Central neighborhood. Learn about the 2020 concert here and stay tuned for another concert with APCH in Spring 2021.
